In Prague there is many Clubs with life music.

Clubs Rock & Dance Clubs

Radost FX - Belehradska 120, Prague 2 - 256998 metro I.P. Pavlova

The Czech word for pleasure is Radost. Appropriate then that Radost FX is frequented by the city's affluent hipsters. The decor is plush, the DJs pump out techno/house, and twiggy types are paid to wriggle rigorously above the dance floor.

Belmondo Revival Club - Bubenska, Prague 7 - 7914854 metro Vltavska

Lucerna bar - Vodickova 36, Praha 1, open daily 20 - 03, tel.: 24217108

This extensive club, inhabiting an old basement ballroom in the beautifulbut-run-down Lucerna building is the place for good, lively concerts catering to diverse tastes. Until the Havel family has soned out its disagreements, the mainly Czech crowd will carry on consuming their inexpensive drinks seasoned with plaster particles falling from the ceiling - which doesn't seem to spoil the fun. Always good for a laugh are the diverse "revival bands" which can delude the ear, if not the eye, to perfection.

Rock Cafe - Narodni Trida 20, Prague 1, open daily 21 - 05, tel.: 24254776, metro Nrodni Trida

In a town where discos can open and fold in the blink of an eye, the Rock Cafe has become an institution. Besides the stark black room where Czech and foreign bands perform several nights each week, Rock Café also runs a CD store, a rock 'n' roll fashion boutique and a mini-cinema which regularly screens rockumentary flicks. The downstairs cafe is so modern and spare as to feel almost chilly, but the boogying bodies of Czechs and tourists alike keep the main room warm despite its bare-bones warehouse feel.

Jo's Garage - Malostranske namesti 7, Praha 1, open daily 21 - 05, tel.: 531251

After years of delays, this long-promised club - located conveniently beneath Jo's Bar, Prague's most enduring tourist and expatriate hang-out - has finally opened. Head down the narrow spiral staircase just inside the entrance to the bar (the ground-floor restaurant/bar closes at 2 a.m) and descend into a bi-level den of medieval stone, tipsy foreigners and dancing mayhem. Despite overpriced beer and inconsistent music - it careens unapologetically from techno/house to nostalgic mixes of popular `70's, `80's and '90's dance tunes - Jo's can be a great place to boogie, especially if it's late, if you've already had a few, and if you happen to be in Mala Strana. Best of all, the tunes blast every night till 5 a.m. and you never pay a cover charge.

Klub Mlejn - Kovarova 1615 Prague 5 - 79 81 299

Klub 007 Strahov - Vanickova (blok 7), Prague 6 - 52 07 77

Lucerna Palace - Stepanska 61,Prague 1 - 24 212003 metro Mustek

Malostranska Beseda - Malostranske nam.21, Prague 1 - 53 90 24 metro Malostranska

Rokoko - Vaclavske nam. 38, Prague 1 - 24217113 metro Mustek

Roxy - Dlouha 33, Prague 1, open daily 21 - 05, tel.: 23 16 331 metro Namesti Republiky

Subway - Na Prikope 22, Prague 1 - metro Namesti Republiky
